In a press briefing on Sunday, the Union health ministry informed that a total of 447 Adverse Events After Immunisation (AEFIs) were reported on the first two days of India's COVID-19 vaccination drive and of these, only three required hospitalisation. The ministry's Additional Secretary ManohaAgnani also said a meeting was held with all states and Union Territories on Sunday to review the progress of the drive, identify bottlenecks and plan corrective actions. This figure is higher than the US, UK and France on day one, it said. The Union health ministry said that 2,07,229 people were vaccinated on day one- the highest day one vaccination number in the world. According to data released by the Health Department, only 13,041 healthcare workers got the COVID-19 vaccine administered across the state against the targeted 27,233 for the day.
